I think more golfers would benefit if they understood it. Those two things might work if a golfer is young and very supple, but not for most.
Ben Hogan spent years on the practice ground learning how to hot good golf shots and studying how his fundamenatls needed to move in order to hit long and straight. I’ve read it once, just recently, and it has dropped a few strokes off of my rather pedestrian game.

If you grip the club as he suggests, keep it open going back, hold the angle and turn through the ball aggressively, your golf ball certainly will not hook, but you better be prepared to hit it right.
